Joining the Department in celebrating the stellar accomplishment of one of our second year graduate students: Krysten L. Long. She describes her experience in her own words:
"I had been told that the top 100 is what you shoot for. I took my shot and it paid off. I’ve been accepted into the University of Georgia’s Sociology Ph.D. program. While the thought of entering this next chapter of my academic journey is a bit intimidating, I am ready. I am grateful to the African American Studies Department at GSU for preparing me for the future. The late nights, early mornings and stress-filled days are paying off. I am all smiles because I know that my foundation is solid and that whatever comes my way I am equipped to handle it. I am a Ph.D., MA in making and I owe a huge part of that to the amazing faculty and staff that have stood and that continue to stand by and support me. I may become a Bulldog, but I am always a Panther at heart. Thank you!"
Thank you Krysten! And congratulations again on your acceptance into UGA!
